In the previous lessons, you have learned about nouns. Nouns name people, animals, things, and objects around us. These are a few examples of nouns: book, teacher, and students. In order to construct sentences, you need to use different verbs in addition to nouns.
Do you know what verbs are? Let’s try to define them together. Verbs are the words that show the action or state of the nouns. They bring them to life. They make them active.
Examples:

The book is on the table.
“Is” is a form of the verb "to be."
It connects the subject (book) with the location (on the table).

The teacher has brown hair.
“Has” is a form of the verb "to have."
It gives us more information about the teacher's appearance.

The students are intelligent.
“Are” is a form of the verb "to be."
It tells us about the students.
